Twenty years ago Matthew Nelson came to Boston with a desire to train young people in the trades. Having grown up in rural upstate New York, he knew how to work hard, but most of all he knew how to be inventive and problem solve. Plumbing work appeals to him because it constantly presents interesting hard to solve dilemmas. He began NWPH in 1984 after apprenticing at East Cambridge Plumbing and Heating and Marini Plumbing in Quincy and Low Income Housing Corp. in the Back Bay. Driving a weathered and worn van full of tools, Matt worked on each project as if it was his own property. His integrity and honesty earned him a loyal customer base and the company continues to grow, as he has been able to bring on board like-minded men and skilled tradesmen.

Narrow Way Plumbing and Heating stands out in its philosophical base toward people and work.
